Yesterday, after about 2weeks of waiting, I finally got my rail system in for my Stag.  I love the things, they may add weight (About 2pounds) from the standard handgrips, but just having them causes all different images of what I can now stick on the rifle to blossom in my mind. Sadly, I can’t currently afford to GET any of the random things to stick on them, so for now, the rails just remain in place with their covers on them. I’ll try to get a picture to post later today and to update the weapons page. May snap a picture of one or two other rifles while I’m at it!

Well, yesterday I was all set to write something calling everyone at Borders and incompetent idiot. However today I discovered that that’s only the Web team potentially, and the Web Customer Support team for sure.

You see, beginning of January, I bought the first 2 books of a trilogy, the third one was due out late January/Early Febuary. Since I was buying this on a gift card, I decided to go ahead and just preorder the 3rd book on Borders website. 

Problem starts near the end of January, I didn’t remember the release date, so I go to my confirmation email which has a link to the book I ordered, and click the link to check the release date. It was then I discovered my book wasn’t listed on their site anymore! So, I do a few different searches, one by the whole title, then breaking it up into the series name and book number, then the individual books title. Well look at that! The books been relisted on their site under just the individual books title. It’s got an image of the book and the image shows the full title being the same one I ordered. Thing is, that link says it’s already shipping, mine hasn’t.

So, first thing I did is send them an email, easy mistake afterall right? I’m sure they’ll correct this, so I explain what happened and how it’s actually listed under a different name, but same book. Well, I wait a day, I get a response. My book is backordered (What? It’s not LISTED!) and they can’t switch out books. If I wanted though they could cancel the order (Yea, that’s why I contacted you, to cancel it) and reorder a new book. Well that was last night. I went to call customer service, figuring if nothing else I can yell at a manager to get it fixed, unfortunatly the customer call center was closed for the night.

The story continues today. I made sure to get to bed early enough to get up for the 9AM Opening time for the call center so I could get ahold of them without much of a wait. Well, I call them around 9:05 and get the automated “All our agents are busy” thing, and some music.

Well about 3 minutes later a polite woman with a Southern Accent (Maybe Texas?) asks how she can help me, and is extremely polite. I give her the information and she looks it up on their side and on the public site, sees what I’m talking about, and lets me know that as it looks at that time the best option would be to cancel it since they cant swap the items out, even if they are the same. Thing is, I don’t have the gift card anymore, and I let her know that. She then asked me to hold for a few minutes. Turns out she was trying to get ahold of the web team to find out what happened and see if it can be fixed. She comes back, lets me know she wasn’t able to get ahold of them, but she did put a ticket in, and now that shes looked everything up and sent that out, it might not be worth cancelling this order anyways because the same thing might happen when it gets relisted correctly.

She then gives me her name and tells me to check back tomorrow, and if nothing else I can always cancel it. 

Here I am, an hour after the call, actually feeling confident I’ll get the book. Whereas the email response only left me feeling like there should be a mass firing of personel at borders.

I have to APPROVE comments, ergo all you do is give me a higher spam comment count, yet fail to get your message out to anyone, so give it up! Hell, why the heck are you even doing it on my WEAPONS PAGE?! At least do it on a post on the main page….morons….

 

Edit: I have officially confirmed, that Spammers cant read, at all. They’re not only idiots for posting the spam, it seems that they’re also too stupid to read.
